We’re kick-starting the transformation of Hoddle Street with a construction blitz this summer. From the 7th, to the 14th of January Hoddle Street will be closed in both directions between the Eastern Freeway and Victoria Parade. More than 100 road workers will be working around the clock to strengthen the bridge over the Eastern Freeway so we can add a third lane to the freeway entrance. We’ll also demolish and rebuild the centre of Hoddle Street for new p-turn intersections. Plan ahead and avoid the area, as delays of up to one hour are expected. Access to businesses along Hoddle Street will be maintained, and public transport will continue to run, although services may be delayed. This work is part of the Victorian Government’s $60million commitment to cut congestion for the 330,000 people who use this vital road every day.
