Hello and welcome to my channel. To the product presentation of the company GERO Design The company GERO Design contacted me. And asked me if I would like to choos a kit from their product range. And then show it on my channel. I have chosen the diorama kit Ardennes Offensive in scale 1/35. The company GERO Design has provided me with the kit and a couple of other things. Even though the company GERO Design has provided me with the items. I will still objectively and tell you my honest opinion. I would say, let’s just look at things. Let’s start with the kit I chose this kit because I would like to do a little diorama with my M18 Hellcat sometime in the future. You may have already seen the Hellcat on my channel update. The hellcat, standing in the middle an is guarding with US soldiers the farmhouse. Somewhere in France in 1944 I suggest we open this and look inside. We see a lot of bubble wrap and the parts are very well protected. I think nothing has broken during transport. The parts are all made of plaster. We now get out all the parts. At the bottom we see the base Assembled, the farm looks like this. With an archway and the farmhouse. Now let’s look at the individual parts. Here we have the base of the diorama. Around the edge is indicated a kind of wooden frame Of course everything is plaster, but it is well poured. The frame has a wood structure. If you paint the frame with a wood color, it will look really good. The paving stones in the yard are all different. They have different sizes and shapes. The joints between the paving stones could be deeper. Unfortunately you can see many air pockets, like here. Unfortunately you can see here a kind, moldline. you have to remove them And you would have to re-engrave the joints. In the upper left corner, comes the building. On the right side there is a wall and in the middle comes the archway. Let’s look at the other parts. Here we now have the roof of the farmhouse. That is then tilted forward. It consists of one piece. You can see on the side wooden boards and on top of it, overlapping wooden boards. The wood structure is clearly visible. At some places beautifully deepened. Again, you can see a few air pockets. But that is not bad and can be fixed well. Or you take another roof and build one out of wood. That was the roof of the house. Here we have a sidewall made of stones. I think she looks really great. As if she was really made of stones. There are no air pockets here. I think the stones can be painted well with paint and a wash. The back is absolutely smooth. This is the side wall of the archway. But we will see that in the end. That’s the front of the house now. With the window and the door. And here comes the stairs. Here you can see the damage of the wall, The masonry under the plaster is good visible. At the corner of the wall are significantly larger stones. I do not like the look of the door. The wood structure is too deep and it looks unreal. I will remove the door with a multitool and replace it with a wooden door. Here we see other damage and the back is also smooth again. Here is the stairs now, this consists of two parts. That are placed on top of each other.
This creates the stairs. I think it’s nice that the steps of the stairs are badly worn. As if people really walked these stairs for many decades. On the surface of the stairs, again single stones are indicated. The archway is not broken, it will be delivered in three parts. He is then put together like that. If the archway is glued together, you can not see the joints of the individual parts. The stones are very well modeled again. Also on the inside. The back is smooth again. In any case, it makes sense to build a wooden gate. I will try to build a gate of balsa wood and put it in here. A lasercut gate, which is included or can be bought at the accessories is not a bad idea. This is the side wall of the house now. This is the roof pitch Here on the corner are again the larger stones. And here is the masonry again. The back is smooth. These are the walls of the stairs. Up here is the handrail. The wall for the front and the wall for the back. I’ll put the kit together provisionally and show it to you. That’s the kit now. All parts are not firmly connected The parts are not cleaned up yet. So you can imagine how everything looks finished. The house has only here in front and at the side of a wall. It is open at the side and at the back, so you can see my fingers here. The stairs is framed by the stone walls. And here in the middle you can wonderfully put a vehicle. I think it will look pretty good with the M18 Hellcat in the middle and a few soldiers around Maybe I bring a little life into the house. Now let’s look at the other stuff. These are the other things that GERO Design has provided me with. We have here once. Curbs in 1/35. Red bricks in 1/35. Paving stones. Many of them. Walkway plates. And some more ammo boxes. To evaluate a product correctly, you have to compare it with another product from a other company. I would say we start with the bricks. We compare them with the bricks of the company RT Diorama. These are now the bricks and in the bag should be over 2000 stones. 2000 bricks is pretty much What you can see here is that the color has become really beautiful. A great terracotta red. And we get out some stones. I’ll zoom in. These are the bricks now. At some stones you can see that corners are missing. Either because they are broken off or due to air pockets. But that’s not bad. All damaged stones can later be placed on a rubble pile. But most of the stones are undamaged. I think that gives you a good idea of the contents of the package. These were now the bricks of GERO Design. I’ll put bricks of the company RT Diorama next to it. Let’s start with the size. This is really the same. The bricks have the same size, so you can assume that the scale of the bricks is right. The bricks of the company RT Diorama are less damaged. This may be because they are significantly less in a pack. They also seem to be made of a different material. These look like cast from plaster. The others are either plaster or ceramic. But I have to say that I like these bricks better here. With the color they look much more like real bricks. Next we have the curbs. Like on this photo here. The bag contains 50 pieces. These are also completely colored. There is no white cut edge when you cut the stones. Here I get out a few. I zoom in. And then we compare them again. The curbs have the color granite gray. This is what GERO Design calls this color. And they are made of ceramics. They are isosceles and I think they can handle them well. You can make a nice curbside with them. I have here curbs that I have poured myself. with silicone molds from the company Diorama Debris from England. Of course you can not compare the two to 100%. But I was able to achieve the right color very well. It is very similar to that of GERO Design. These curbs are very smooth and they look more like they made from concrete. The others look a lot like processed stone. The size can not be compared, because there are too many different curbs. But I think they fit well with 1/35 And there is the right curb for every project. I’ll try this one for sure. Now we come to the walkway plates. The sidewalk slabs are also made of ceramic. They are 15x15mm wide and 4mm high And in the bag should be 50 pieces. I was very happy about these. I did not have any in my stock yet. I needed them anyway, so that’s a good opportunity. We open the pack The slabs have the same color as the curbs. In this beautiful granite gray. I zoom in. From the near, the slabs look very good too. In the surface there are a few recesses. There you can work nicely with a wash or pigments to emphasize the pits. As I said, they are 15x15mm and 4mm high. The slabs are all a bit different, that comes from the casting. I think that makes it possible to build a very good walkway. Let’s get to the paving stones now. These are in the same gray and are made of ceramic. The bag should contain 1000 pieces. I think the number is right, as heavy as the bag is. The paving stones are 5x5x5 mm. I’ll get some out and zoom in again. There are also different types of paving stones. Some are perfectly cast, others have broken corners or air pockets. The damage does not bother, these make the stones look more realistic. Real stones outside in roads are also different are damaged. With that you can definitely build a nice paved road. But you have to note that all stones are 5x5x5 mm in size The later when processing, the pattern in the paved road does not look so uniform. And finally we have the ammo boxes from GERO Design. Yes you heard right, they also make boxes. These are also made of ceramic In the bag are 15 pieces. These are all cast in gray. The boxes have different sizes. As you can see well. Crates for tank grenades or hand grenades and for other types of ammunition. I zoom in again. Here are the ammo boxes. There are boxes in different sizes and they all have a wooden texture. The pits are a bit too deep and look out of scale. But you have to be fair it is cast ceramic and not made of resin. That they are made of ceramic, it is all right. The boxes can also be stacked nicely and placed somewhere on a diorama. I think if you work here with acrylfarben and washes, you can emphasize the wood well. I would sand the surface a bit to make the wood and here on the top smoother. Thanks again to the company GERO Design, which has provided me with all these things. And that I was allowed to choose this kit, which you will definitely see again. For the diorama of the M18 Hellcat. The other products will also have a place with me. Thank you very much for your attention. See you soon Ben.
