To create a country, there are differents steps:
The first one is related to the referencing, so we get a database from the
rally promoters and satellite data. We are very lucky to be able
to work now with statellite, that allows us to have a 1/1 scale about the
real locations of the different countries. From there we generate a landscape
that now allows us to work over much longer distances,
about 30km by 30 km, which allows us to open the field
of vision, to create landmarks and points of interest that the
players can use and will remember. Its the result of a lot of analysis
depending on the different country, what are the specifics of each country?
What is the essence of every rally? Knowing that in a real rally, a real special,
stages can last on average 30, 40, 50, 60 kms On the game we use much shorter lengths, so the goal is to successfully
reproduce the essence of the original rally while making condensed stages over much shorter distances. We have a whole system of dynamic weather now that appeared in WRC
8, beyond being able to give players different
conditions during a special, it is also accentuate the
immersion related to each country. In Mexico it will be much warmer
generally, so the weather conditions related to that and will have
an impact specific to Mexico. However in Monte Carlo or Sweden,
we will have much wetter surface that will influence the feel of
driving, the visibility and therefore the difficulty of the stage,
and how, from the beginning to the end, the player will have to
manage, anticipate all this. This weather will not
only impact the visual, but it will also impact
the feel of gameplay. On WRC 8 we had a lot of new countries
that we created from scratch and for those, for example for Monte Carlo or Turkey,
we based this on real topological data. With that data thanks to a software we reproduced the maps 1/1 scale. We define an area with the level designer to create up to 3 stages
in the same open world map. And once we have done this step,
we improve the terrain in this software, we export it the first time, integrate it into
our game software so that the level designer can do tests in order to create
prototype stages and see what they need as modifications because sometimes
the maps needs extra details. For example in Monte Carlo it was
necessary to add an entire mountain because they needed to
replicate a certain vista . We will try to create a terrain which
fit the needs of level designer, once this step is done we finalise it, and the level designer
use their magic skills to create the stages and
maps as we know them today.

Now, can you do that for Finland and Sweden too instead of just using old stages? All the new rallies get new stages but Finland is left way behind.

The stages look beautiful and even more now with the new weather system. The lighting and color palette are excellent. Subtle and not in your face video game looking, like in many other games. So congrats to the artists and track designers

I do not want Epic Games. I have all the WRC games in the library in Steam. I have friends in Steam with whom I played online on the WRC. To play the WRC 2019 season in 2020, all interest in the game is lost. WRC 8 will turn into a pumpkin in 2020. I will not buy the game in the Epic Games Store. It turns out I and many others waited 2 years in vain! Thank you, you have lost at least 1 customer from Russia!

Replicating reality… this didn't even work out for RBR itself, only mods helped something years later. If you want to copy reality and sign it under this broken title, you must make a game for max 5% of players. Such sweet farting also took place when Dirt4 entered the market, which turned out to be a total failure.

I think I would rather the less realistic stages that was in wrc7 . Realism can sometimes be boring . I think it’s better letting developers base it on fact and add there own artistic flair to it .

Looking amazing. Please beef up the exhaust notes and crackles in the game. Wrc7 sounded like car audio was recorded in a glass bowl
